Pay Rate/Range: The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $28.88 to $29.70/hour. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience; the budget for the position; and the application of fair, equitable, and consistent pay practices at the University. The full salary range for this position is $28.88 to $49.76/hour.

Learn more about the benefits of working at UC Brief Summary of Job Duties: This position works within the Athletics Department team, and will focus on creation, design & strategy on all visual branding and marketing efforts for UC Santa Barbara Athletics. This position will create design work, and other digital elements as assigned for UCSB Athletics Department. The Digital Elements will prioritize social media and website imagery with a focus on, but not limited to, print collateral, digital advertising and internal and external branding of the Athletics Department. This position will help drive the overall brand and messaging of UC Santa Barbara Athletics. Maintains currency with emerging technological and social media developments, and recommends activities. Works closely with the Marketing and Communications team and program staff. Adhere to the Intercollegiate Athletics design standards when creating content. Qualifications:
- Ability to accurately research, organize and interpret information; assist in the coordination/preparation of strategic communications plans.
- Strong knowledge and proficient use of various social media channels including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Pinterest and YouTubeStrong
- Ability to exhibit sound judgement as it relates to all forms of communication.
- Knowledge of digital communication media, including relevant software, equipment and/or content management systems.
- Familiarity with Macintosh and Windows operating systems and relevant applications, including MS Office, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc. Excellent verbal, interpersonal, group/team and public communication skills.
- Excellent written communication skills with proven ability to write effectively under deadline for a variety of purposes, goals, audiences and media.
- Ability to represent organizational objectives, brand and voice while tailoring messages to intended audiences and appropriate media channel/format.
- Ability to use data and creative problem solving for technical and creative solutions and deliverables.
- Ability to work professionally with diverse teams of faculty, administrators, staff and constituents.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize and manage time and tasks effectively to meet deadlines and time sensitive objectives, while adjusting to emergent priorities.

Job Functions and Percentages of Time:
- 100% Marketing/Design/Management - Provide overall management and oversight of marketing and promotional operations. Supervise and manage interns (in-office and on game days). Oversee staffing, training, and scheduling of office hours. Support execution of the promotional schedule, including themes, anthems, contests, and recognitions. Manage promotional design and branding, including creation, ordering, and organization of promotional items. Develop and install efficient task management systems for marketing initiatives. Produce graphic design and visual assets, including flyers, social event promotions, videoboard elements, and tabling materials. Coordinate logistical and operational needs such as table set-up, giveaways, and videoboard uploads. Ensure seamless execution of all promotional and fan engagement activities on game days. Oversee Kids Club operations, including shirt deliveries, group experiences at games, retention initiatives, and related promotional activities. Manage community outreach efforts, including development of databases for groups, performers, and organizations. Support consistent communication and engagement with new and existing community partners. Plan and execute special events such as National Girls & Women in Sports Day, youth programming events, education/school district days, and other community-driven initiatives. Identify and implement opportunities to connect community groups to specific events.
