The Process Engineer is responsible for analyzing, designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure product quality. This role supports production teams by identifying process bottlenecks, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Optimize the processing of specialty thermoplastic polyolefin materials on both batch and continuous compounding extrusion equipment through improvements in process automation, PLC programming, HMI technology and SQL database management. Trouble shoot persistent problems with instrumentation & controls. Interface with IT to integrate process data into Mfg. + QC legacy reporting systems. Modify the application programs as needed to improve SPC & company quality systems. Determine process parameters required for scale up of new formulations from lab/pilot plant to manufacturing environment. Provide process-engineering support as required to Manufacturing Dept. to increase throughputs, material & machine efficiencies and solve quality problems. A Day in the Life
You Bring This Value
* 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. experience in plastics compounding process controls: LIW feeders, PLC programming, HMI technology, SPC and SQL database systems. Experience with Wonderware. Various other feeder systems. * Engineering degree and Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process optimization tools * Proficiency in data analysis and process simulation software (e.g., Minitab, AutoCAD, MATLAB). * Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. * Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
