Network Engineer

We are looking for a Network Engineer to support our customer in Lakehurst, NJ. The ideal candidate will be able to perform the following duties, as well as possess the following education and experience:

The position requires working in physically demanding environments, including naval vessels, remote field sites, and other challenging conditions.

Duties:

• Assist in the design, deployment, and maintenance of secure, mission-critical network systems
• Support troubleshooting and performance optimization of network infrastructure
• Work under the guidance of senior engineers to ensure reliability, security, and compliance
• Interpret and assist with network documentation, diagrams, and schematics
• Participate in field deployments aboard ships and remote installations
• Help maintain cybersecurity standards across all network operations

Required Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
• CompTIA Security+
• Cisco CCNA (Preferred)

Required Experience:

• 0-3 years of relevant experience (internships, academic projects, or co-ops included)
• Basic understanding of networking concepts: TCP/IP, routing, switching, network protocols, and network security
• Familiarity with network tools, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Ability to interpret network diagrams and documentation
• Knowledge of network virtualization and cloud networking is a plus
• Familiarity with operating systems (Linux/Windows) and network configuration tools is desirable
• Ability to complete 40 hours of OS training
• Highly adaptable and flexible under pressure
• Strong problem-solving skills in high-stress or resource-constrained environments
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
• Commitment to cybersecurity, attention to detail, and professional integrity
• Willingness and ability to travel and work in austere conditions
• Ability to work in noisy, confined, hot/cold, humid, or hazardous environments

  • Lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Climb ladders/stairs, kneel, crawl, and stoop for extended periods
  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators, hearing protection, and steel-toed boots
  
  
  
  

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $56,035.20-$90,000.00 (annualized USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems' total compensation package.
