- Perform preventive maintenance, root-cause analysis, and downtime reduction initiatives.
- Vision system design, configuration, and management
- Design, configure, program, and maintain machine vision inspection systems (cameras, lighting, lenses, and image processing software).
- Develop and execute system validation and calibration procedures to ensure accuracy and repeatability.
- Programming and controls
- Troubleshoot and program PLCs (e.g., Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMIs; develop robust control logic for automated lines.
- Integrate vision systems with other automation platforms (robotics, PLCs, MES, SCADA as applicable).
- Leadership and mentorship
- Act as a subject matter expert; mentor and train junior technicians and production staff on operation, troubleshooting, and best practices.
- Lead or participate in installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment, upgrades, and product integrations.
- Process improvement and reliability
- Identify opportunities for efficiency, quality, and uptime improvements; apply data-driven root-cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, FMEA).
- Champion equipment reliability initiatives and collaborate with engineers to deploy new systems.
- Cross-functional collaboration
- Work with engineering, production, IT, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment with operational goals.
- Documentation and safety
