What We Offer This position performs analytical testing on raw materials, process control, finished product, lab reliability and special / non-routine samples to ensure the quality of products. The position supports safety and training goals while pursuing good analytical testing practices in the laboratory. Major Responsibilities:
- Accountable to follow all documented safety procedures.
- Accountable to actively participate in safety efforts and to meet the laboratory responsibilities for plant emergency response, including driving the emergency vehicle.
- Accountable to perform, document, and communicate results of routine and semi-routine analytical testing of in process, finished goods and lab reliability samples as well raw materials including COA evaluations.
- Responsible to calibrate and maintain instruments under the preventive maintenance and reliability programs.
- Responsible to participate in the electronic disposition of finished goods and to confirm lot numbers in Sample Manager and SAP.
- Accountable to perform housekeeping of laboratory facilities, including restocking of supplies.
- Accountable to work as part of a team effort to maintain the productivity of the shift.
- Responsible to perform special duties and projects as requested by supervision.
- Responsible to assist in providing support for customers special needs.
- Implement and participate in applicable Quality management requirements.
- Must work in a safe and organized fashion with emphasis on minimizing chemical exposure potential.
- Must be capable of managing multiple tasks and projects in the normal workday on 12-hour shift.
- Must provide quality test results in a timely manner.
- Must be able to use Sample Manager and SAP to meet product requirements.
- Must be knowledgeable of quality assurance testing and quality systems.
- Must be motivated and self-directed.
- Must be able to review and statistically comprehend analytical data.
- Must be available for unscheduled, off-hours consultation and/or call-in work with little or no notice.
- Must willingly participate in Fire and Gas Emergency team training and activities.
- This individual must be able to determine if the sample tested meets the requirements documented.
What You Offer Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a chemistry or biology related field
- Lab experience
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
- Working knowledge of algebra and computers
- Ability to drive the Emergency Vehicle (Fire Truck)
- Ability to adjust to a rotating shift schedule (12 hour)
- Must be capable to interact with others in a positive and professional team environment.
- Must have fulfilled all department requirements (training, experience and testing) for the position.
- Must meet or exceed performance level requirements.
- Must have demonstrated a commitment to safety in all aspects of their duties and in their interaction with their coworkers.
