The Opportunity

This position represents a level in which the incumbent is primarily responsible for providing technical direction in conjunction with justifying, identifying, procuring, and managing the physical and human resources required for supporting the Stability and Surveillance (S&S) activities for Ventana's reagent systems. This position will manage multiple product stability studies simultaneously, providing collected data in the form of interim and final reports to meet the business needs for on-market and new product support. This position identifies and networks with other functional areas within the company as required to support commercialization, regulatory filings, global registration, product dating extension, and global logistics. The incumbent will have area responsibility for maintaining the relevant work instructions in the Quality System and ensuring their compliance. Sets goals and standards for the team and is responsible for creating an environment which supports rapid and efficient product support. Monitors work to ensure quality and compliance.

  • Manages S&S activities, which includes supporting projects involving product performance of Ventana's reagent products.

  • Establishes team direction and goals, and direction of resources toward completion of those goals; establishes and maintains team milestones and timelines.

  • Communicates with product development and Ops/Mfg teams for transfer of products into real time stability studies, communicates and works with various functional teams to extend product shelf life in order to meet global logistics and market requirements, communicates and works with manufacturing quality for excursion management and global logistics, communicates and works with regulatory on global registration and submission documentation.

  • Assigns responsibilities, delegates authority, recruits, selects, trains, and coaches employees, monitor work to ensure quality, and continuously promote quality and compliance.

  • Ensures continual operation by managing the establishment of preventative maintenance schedules and equipment maintenance.

  • Manages to the budget as directed, manages staff; provides staff with coaching, training and opportunities to develop skills, and gives ongoing, constructive and timely feedback on performance and progress toward goals and expectations.

  • Responsible for motivation and development of all personnel within the team, provides open environment and promotes teamwork, provides effective leadership for team.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor of Science in life sciences or related field: 8 or more years of experience in the following functions or combination thereof: relevant experience in development or manufacturing environment, reagent or instrument product design/development, instrument or reagent systems integration, chemistry/reagent design/development.

  • Technical project management experience.

  • Experience with Roche platforms, assays, and software.

  • Prior management/supervisory experience.

Preferred

  • MS in life sciences or related field: 6 or more years of experience in the following functions or combination thereof: relevant experience in development or manufacturing environment, reagent or instrument product design/development, instrument or reagent systems integration, chemistry/reagent design/development.

  • PhD in life sciences or related field : 4 or more years of combined academic and industry experience in the following functions or combination thereof: relevant experience in development or manufacturing environment, reagent or instrument product design/development, instrument or reagent systems integration, chemistry/reagent design/development.

  • Familiarity with SAFe Agile methodologies.

  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, database and email software.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Tucson, Arizona is $103,500 - $192,300 Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
