FULL SUMMARY

The Mining Maintenance Manager serves as the primary customer contact throughout the life of the mining equipment repair by managing all correspondence and documentation from inquiry to invoice/follow-up. This role works closely with the Product Support leadership, Mining Business Leadership, and mine site personnel to ensure the continued growth of customer satisfaction and operational performance through the alignment of systems, people, and processes. Responsibilities include operating in a remote, high-demand environment, ensuring seamless coordination between field technicians, customers, and internal departments, delivering exceptional service and equipment support in alignment with current customer agreements.



  • Oversees lifecycle maintenance and repair execution of all on-site mining equipment.
  • Manages for TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) of all mine site equipment.
  • Is responsible for forecasted repair costs vs actual.
  • Serves as the on-site liaison for customer service and repair communication.
  • Coordinates service scheduling with mine site personnel.
  • Ensures all machine connectivity is active and reporting.
  • Provides real-time repair updates and ensures customer satisfaction.
  • Qualifies repair needs and prepares quotes/estimates.
  • Manages work orders using Microsoft A/X and service systems.
  • Handles warranty, policy, and service documentation.
  • Collaborates with technicians and foremen on daily schedules.
  • Monitors productivity, time tracking, and quality control.
  • Supports technician performance feedback and development.
  • Utilizes Microsoft 365 Field Service for scheduling repairs.
  • Communicates service status and resolves customer concerns.
  • Contacts customers for up-sell approvals.
  • Finalizes mining machine repairs and confirms invoice closure.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.



KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  • Strong technical understanding of heavy equipment systems (CAT preferred).
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and business systems (AX, 365, SIS, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven customer service and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, high-demand environment.
  • Consistent attendance.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or technical certification preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in service coordination, heavy equipment repair, or field operations required, experience working in mining or remote industrial environments preferred.
  • Minimum of two years' customer service experience in the heavy equipment industry required.
  • Minimum of three years prior management experience with P&L responsibility preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
  • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English).
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain MSHA certification.


This role is designated as safety sensitive.
