Position Title:Carpenter - Facilities Maintenance

Job Description:
General Description: Under general supervision, performs rough and finished carpentry work. Essential Responsibilities: Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.
- Erects, maintains, and repairs various types of buildings, sheds, scaffolds, forms, frames, fences and other structures.
- Alters, repairs and maintains doors, floors partitions, roof, stairways, windows, screens and other wooden fixtures.
- Repairs venetian blinds and awnings.
- Fits and glazes glass windows and doors.
- Reconstructs, alters, or repairs tables, chairs, benches, counters, locker, shelves and window frames.
- Performs some cabinetmaker work, makes rough sketches, and estimates the cost of new structures and repair work.
- Advises in the selection of building materials, prepares preliminary requisitions and stores building materials and supplies.
General Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Experience: One (1) - Three (3) years of experience required. Two (2) or more years of experience in carpentry preferred. License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: None required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of hand tools such as planers, jointers, power saws, routers, drill press, etc.
- Knowledge of tool maintenance.
- Ability to assigns tasks to unskilled helpers.
- Ability to keep time, material, and job records for assigned work details.
