OUR OPENING

The project accountant is responsible for managing the WIP reporting process across all divisions of the company. This role supports accurate financial reporting by collaborating with project managers to analyze costs, monitor variances, and ensure data integrity. In addition, the project accountant performs a variety of project-related administrative functions to support effective project management.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO AS A PROJECT ACCOUNTANT?



  • Compile WIP report and reconcile to general ledger
  • Research any discrepancies, issues or large variances
  • Ensure accuracy of job costing

    • Accurate phase codes
    • Payroll to correct place at correct rate


  • Perform allocations to jobs
  • Provide support as needed related to projects for annual audit
  • Pull support to provide to owners for project audits
  • Set up new jobs in ERP
  • Ensure proper documentation
  • Close jobs as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.


EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED



  • Associates degree or two-year equivalent in business administration, accounting or related field required and a minimum of five (5) years of accounting and finance related experience required.
  • Accounting experience in the construction industry strongly preferred.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES NEEDED



  • Data entry and general mathematical skills are required.
  • Proficient in applicable computer programs including Microsoft Office, Internet, and database programs.

  • A majority of work takes place in an indoor office setting equipped with a computer, desk, phone, and other typical office equipment.
  • Must be able to inspect details at close range, interact, communicate, and exchange accurate information consistently.
  • Must be able to retain a stationary position for extended periods of time.
