Job Summary

This role will play a pivotal part in leading the development and maintenance of our enterprise data platforms. You will oversee a team of data engineers focused on building scalable, modern data platforms that serve as the foundation for analytics, AI, and machine learning initiatives. Your expertise in data engineering, cloud technologies, and strategic leadership will drive the success of our enterprise data capabilities.
Hybrid - in the corporate office 2-3 days a week.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Build and lead a high-performing team of data engineers and AI/ML resources.

  • Lead the development of scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support enterprise-wide analytics and AI/ML use cases.

  • Guide the implementation of cloud-based data platforms, data lakes, and enterprise data warehouses.

  • Collaborate with architects, data scientists, and business stakeholders to enable data-driven decision-making.

  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities for team members.

  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes innovation and excellence.

  • Evaluate team performance and establish performance goals, conducting regular performance reviews.

  • Develop work plans, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery of milestones and objectives.

  • Partner with stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and success criteria.

  • Ensure secure and compliant data access and usage across the organization.

  • Collaborate with solution architects to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability of data platforms.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older

  • Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of related experience; 3-5 in a leadership or team lead capacity

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

  • Proven experience in systems development and project management

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering with a solid understanding of cloud platforms, data lake architecture, and enterprise data warehousing

  • Preferred experience with Microsoft Fabric or comparable cloud data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake."

  • Strong collaboration skills with experience in developing and implementing governance processes that enable other teams while gaining buy-in and ensuring compliance

  • Experience with data integration tools and technologies, including API integration, Alteryx, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), or Azure Data Factory

  • Familiarity with data security, data privacy regulations, and compliance standards

  • Strong ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Experience managing a remote team, including both onshore and offshore resources

  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills to guide data engineers

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive data-driven decision-making

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Hybrid - in the corporate office 2 to 3 days a week

  • Preferred experience with Power BI, including semantic model design, DAX optimization, and enabling self-service analytics for end users.
