Job Description

Mercury Systems is searching for a Director of Configuration and Data Management to lead a team of 11+, addressing critical needs in Configuration Management (CM), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), component administration and component engineering. In addition to technical excellence within the CDM function through continuous improvement and innovative thinking a successful candidate will also embrace career development and mentorship of the team. This role aligns within Mercury's SEIT function which is responsible for driving excellence in Systems Engineering, Integration and Test, and Configuration and Data Management.



The ideal candidate will be someone who is passionate about mentoring and leading a team to excel and deliver results in a maturing matrixed organization. This is a hands-on leadership role and requires a self-starter who thrives on process improvement who wants to make an immediate impact.



Job Responsibilities:



  • Manage configuration management and global component engineering teams.
  • Guide the development of new processes related to aerospace systems CDM to include electromechanical assemblies and software configuration management.
  • Develop goals and metrics/KPIs within the CDM function that will be flowed down to functional partners and drive engineering design and quality improvements
  • Collaborate with company engineering and matrix functions (such IT, Business Analysts, Engineering, Operations, Planning and other Mercury stakeholders) to achieve improvements to CDM and PLM capabilities aligned with company goals.
  • Manage performance of a team of CDM professionals who exercise latitude and independence in assignments through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional products and engagement, motivation, and development of team.
  • Build technical relationships with program and project stakeholders and provide insight into improvement and unique value add opportunities.
  • Contribute to major account technical proposals providing CDM process tailoring guidance and Basis of Estimate.


Required Qualifications:



  • BS or MS in an engineering discipline
  • Ideally 10+ years' experience in Aerospace or Defense CDM, with at least 3 years of CDM leadership.
  • Detailed understanding of AS9100D, EIA-649C, and ISO-10007 Standards and how they apply to lifecycle of aerospace embedded systems.
  • Experience leading configuration change processes (such as CCBs) across the spectrum of electromechanical and software Bill of Materials (BOMs)
  • Knowledge of current and evolving PLM and ERP systems (Oracle/Agile, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills including technical writing and ability to present concepts to senior executive leadership as well as individual contributors
  • Experience leading diverse teams developing the individual career trajectory as well as maintaining team cohesion while being focused on achieving enterprise goals


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Basic understanding of Electromechanical design with focus in aerospace embedded systems
  • Configuration Management industry certification
  • Experience in Software Configuration Management (SCM)
  • Strong knowledge of REACH and ROHS related to component engineering guidelines
  • Experience architecting automation toolsets for BOM analysis and component obsolescence
  • Experience migrating data across PLM systems
  • The ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance. US Citizenship is required.

    • Cypress, CA
    • Andover, MA
    • Phoenix, AZ

Salary Transparency for CA:


Full-Time Equivalent Annual Salary Range: $151,700 - $273,100 for a Director at Cypress, CA


The disclosed salary range is a general guideline for Mercury team members employed at the job level at the location listed above and does not include overtime for eligible hourly employees. Mercury considers a variety of factors to determine individual base salary offers to candidates.
