Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Instructional Designer (Temporary) for Mason Gross School of the Arts - Dean's Office. This position reports directly to the Head of Instructional Design and Technology.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Collaborates with content creators and educators to design and builds a series of asynchronous professional development and co-curricular modules within the Rutgers University learning platform, Canvas.
- Advises content creators on best practices to cultivate student engagement and active learning.
- Helps content creators to consider principles of University Design for Learning in developing the asynchronous content.
- Ensures that all Canvas content meets current accessibility laws.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in instructional design or related field and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in online course design and development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

| Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design theory and practice.
- Substantial working knowledge of educational technology tools for engaging pedagogy and assessment within a learning management system.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a service-oriented, supportive environment, as well as managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and skills in communication, presentation design and delivery, and data collection and analysis.
- Familiarity with Canvas LMS and Adobe Premier Pro.
