Operations Associate

Summary

Responsible for delivering, repairing and replacing automated trash and recycling carts to City residences or small commercial businesses. Will also be responsible for ensuring the transfer station grounds comply with TCEQ requirements. This position will also support field operations as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Issue containers and maintain current inventory.

• Make necessary container repairs in the field.

• Load containers on stake bed trucks for residential and commercial delivery.

• Operate a stake bed truck on daily route to deliver, replace or repair containers.

• Complete daily paperwork.

• Assist with Recycling Center Operations.

• Fill in for Recycling Center Attendants.

• Wash and break down container.

• Assist with other department duties as needed.

• Ensure grounds comply with TCEQ requirements.

• Support field operations as needed.

• Light cleaning of break room and bathrooms.

• Minor landscaping work.

• Assist Brush & Bulky Division as needed.

• Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Minimum Qualifications

Must possess a valid Class C Texas driver's license and a good driving record

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

Education/ Experience:

• 6 months to 1 year experience in a courier role

• High School Diploma or GED

• Class C Texas Driver's License

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Licenses and Certifications

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

The incumbent works in a vehicle and outdoors in the streets and alleyways with frequent exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Majority of work performed outside or with exposure to risk.
