The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Informatics within the Strategic Information Unit, the Health Informatics Analyst will provide surveillance and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) support in the areas of data management, documentation, and analysis for health related projects. The Health Informatics Analyst will support other analytic and operational activities related to strategic information (SI) projects, to strengthen health information systems globally, as needed. This position will also perform testing on data collection tools such as SurveyCTO, ODK, REDCap, and DHIS2, as well as some form development when needed. Responsibilities may include data cleaning and management, analysis plan execution, analytic programming and validation, and preparation of reports and data documentation to support analyses. The analyst will also perform additional duties for the project as needed.

Responsibilities



  • Testing and development of data collection tools such as SurveyCTO, ODK, REDCap, and DHIS2 (40%)
  • Update, write, validate, and run analytical programs for monitoring and statistics (e.g., creation of datasets, tables, figures and listings) (10%)
  • Conduct data analysis and generate surveillance reports (10%)
  • Assist with data cleaning and data management (10%)
  • Prepare data documentation including data dictionaries, codebooks, and data use manuals (10%)
  • Summarize data and prepare routine and ad hoc reports and presentations to meet reporting requirements and requests for donors and stakeholders (e.g., SAPs, PowerPoint, dashboards) (10%)
  • Develops and updates specifications for automated monitoring reports to be generated by study or project databases (5%)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned (5%)


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in public health or related field or equivalent to education, training and/or experience.
  • An Epidemiology Certificate is required including courses such as Quantitative Data Analysis, Quantitative Research Design, Epidemiology II: Design and Conduct of Observational Epidemiology, and Psychiatric Epidemiology


Preferred Qualifications


  • Master's degree in public health preferred
  • Strong understanding of public health
  • Knowledge of R for running analyses
  • Knowledge of data cleaning methods
  • Proven experience testing SurveyCTO, ODK, REDCap, and DHIS2 data collection tools
  • Proven experience of developing SurveyCTO data collection forms
