THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for a specialized software engineer who is passionate about improving the performance of key applications and benchmarks. You will be a member of a core team of incredibly talented industry specialists and will work with the very latest hardware and software technology.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Architect, build, and scale large-scale platforms with a focus on reliability, performance, security, and operational excellence across distributed and hybrid environments.
• Lead full-stack development across backend services, APIs, and modern web applications; drive pragmatic architecture and high-quality delivery.
• Build core platform capabilities that improve Developer Experience: self-service workflows, golden paths, templates, CLIs/SDKs, internal tooling, documentation, and paved roads.
• Design and implement an agent platform, including MCP integrations and agent frameworks, enabling safe, observable, and governed agent runtimes.
• Partner closely with ML and product teams to productionize LLM-powered capabilities, including API design, evaluation workflows, rollout strategies, and operational support.
• Build and maintain CI/CD automation and release processes, emphasizing repeatable deployments, quality gates, and safe rollouts.
• Establish best practices across code quality, testing, observability, and incident response; mentor engineers and raise the technical bar.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Platform Engineering: Experience building and operating large-scale platforms used by multiple teams, with strong ownership of reliability and operability.
• Full-Stack Strength: Hands-on experience delivering backend services and modern web applications, with strong API design fundamentals.
• Languages: Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, C#, GO.
• Agent Platforms: Strong knowledge of MCP, agent frameworks, and building agent platforms (tooling, orchestration, evaluation, governance, observability).
• LLM Systems: Experience working with LLMs in production, including prompt/tool design, latency and cost optimization, and safety/guardrails.
• DevOps (Nice to have): CI/CD, infrastructure automation and operational best practices.
• Developer Experience: Track record improving developer workflows and productivity through internal tooling, automation, and clear documentation.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
