The rate of pay for this position is $21.00 an hour. Monday through Friday 10am to 6:30pm.

This position is based at the Youth CNCT starts each day on site and launches in to community to meet with youth, returning to Youth CNCT or other New Avenues sites between meetings and at the end of the day.

What You'll Do: (Examples provided below. This will vary by position).

Be a Mentor and Guide: Build genuine connections with youth, share relevant and intentional experiences to instill confidence and build trust.
Empower Through Advocacy: Help young people navigate education systems, access academic resources, collaborate and coordinate with other providers a part of a wraparound approach, and make informed decisions about their own journey.
Support Growth and Learning: Work with youth in tutoring, building skills around education, organization, and post education planning and navigation.
Document the Journey: Maintain accurate and timely records, ensuring that our programs have the data they need to thrive and continue serving those who need it most.

Qualifications: (Examples provided below. This will vary by position.)

Relevant prior work experience, lived experience, or both. A Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology or related human services field a plus.
Experience working with youth who face multiple barriers.
Employ a variety of methods and tools to support student learning, school reengagement and retention, and educational progress.
This position provides tutoring, GED preparation, advocacy, re-engagement services, collaboration and coordination with schools and districts, post-secondary access support.
Excellent communication, organization, creativity, flexibility, optimism, positive humor and overall interpersonal skills.
Ability and desire to work with diverse staff and youth and to excel in a multi-cultural environment.
A valid driver's license along with regular access to an insured automobile.
Must be willing to be CPR trained and certified
Ability to assess risk in varying environments and respond accordingly using a triage model

This may or may not also include different agency locations or locations within the community being served. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be routinely exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. If the position may require the use of any personal protective equipment, New Avenues will have such equipment on hand for the employee's use.
