The University of Virginia is hiring full-time and part-time Neonatal Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to support the department of Pediatric Neonatology. The UVA Neonatal ICU is a level 4, tertiary center caring for patients from all over Virginia and a portion of Tennessee. Advanced Practice Providers on the Neonatal ICU team are responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and management of the critical ill infant in a setting that offers the latest benefits and innovations supported by research. The role includes working in a team based care delivery, including presenting patients during team rounds, attending high risk deliveries, performing critical care procedures, overnight in-house coverage and educating medical students and residents. This is a collaborative environment that fosters professional growth and development. Experience is preferred but not required. We offer a robust orientation for the novice provider.
This position will cover shifts 7 days a week with varying shift length and rotating between days and nights. 24/7 * Works in conjunction with the medical director, administrative management, nursing and other interprofessional team members to facilitate patient care and management throughout the health care system. The mission of the Neonatal ICU APP team is to improve the quality of life for babies and families in the Neonatal ICU by providing compassionate, culturally sensitive, evidence-based care. We use an interdisciplinary approach in collaboration with our community partners to achieve the best possible outcome. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Licensure: License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Associate, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, and Certified Nurse Midwife) as set forth by the state of Virginia. If Nurse Practitioner, license to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required. Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of UVA Health System, the Virginia Board of Medicine or the Virginia Board of Nursing, and appropriate certifying bodies. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Current PALS/NRP, as required, specific to position. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as required, specific to position. Benefits
