Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward thinking, open-minded and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Located remote from your home office in theAtlanta, Dallas, Denver, Vegas, Baltimore/DC, or Chicago, you will be working hands-on with our engineering customers in the field and recommending products that fit into their applications for our Industrial Replacement Market!



  • You'll be working with a variety of internal groups such as Sales, Business Development, Product Line Management and Technical, as well as directly with customers.
  • This is an exciting opportunity for you because you will be working with customers that provide services and infrasturcure support to data centers in this growing market.
  • There is opportunity to research emerging technology/applications in the data center market to help ensure Gates is staying ahead of market trends.


Key responsibilities:



  • Providing engineering support to customers and clients in the proper application and selection data center products in our Industrial Replacement Market.
  • Work with customers like Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) contractors to determine application requirements, selecting components, and making recommendations to meet system requirements for data centers.
  • Effectively present technical material and collaborate with internal/external customers.
  • Working cooperatively with North American Field Sales, Product Line Managers, and Marketing teams to achieve organizational success.

  • Acts as a resource for other team members; may lead projects with limited risks and resource requirements
Requirements and Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 5+ years of progressive engineering experience, required. Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
  • Experience in HVAC or MEP industry is a plus.
  • Engineering discipline with a focus on Mechanical, Thermodynamics, or Fluid Power systems, preferred.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to manage customer personalities effectively.
  • Eager to be hands on working with our customers, engineers, sales, and marketing teams!
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills - coupled with the ability to maintain and generate product application literature, media, and technical articles.
  • Ability to travel to customers, plants and conferences as required (minimum 30%).
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize resources and project timelines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.

Pay & Benefits



  • Full-Time
  • Salary range: $117,000 - $129,000
  • SIP Eligible
  • Relocation is not provided
  • Medical, Dental, Vision insurance and other voluntary benefit options: benefits beginonthe first day of the month immediately following your date of hire
  • Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days. All vacation days are accrued
  • 401(k): 3% company contribution and additional 3% company match
  • Tuition Reimbursement
