  • TheMaterial Handleris responsible for supporting the transformer winding process by safely handling, staging, transporting, and organizing materials and other components. This role ensures timely and accurate delivery of materials to winding workstations, helps maintain inventory accuracy, and contributes to a clean and efficient production environment. Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards and company policies are essential functions of this role.



    • Transport raw materials (e.g., copper/aluminum wire, insulation, cores) from storage to winding stations using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
    • Ensure winding machines are adequately stocked with necessary supplies to avoid production delays.
    • Label, store, and organize materials according to company procedures and safety standards.
    • Support kitting activities by preparing and staging material packages for specific transformer jobs.
    • Assist with receiving, counting, inspecting, and storing incoming materials.
    • Track material movements and usage in ERP or inventory systems, ensuring accurate records.
    • Communicate with winding operators, planners, and supervisors regarding material needs or discrepancies.
    • Monitor material stock levels and notify the supervisor of potential shortages.
    • Following all safety protocols which includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), respirator, glove, safety glasses, etc.
    • Maintain safe, clean, and orderly workstation.
    • Other assigned duties as needed.


  • Requirements:



    • HS Diploma/GED preferred.
    • 1 year of experience in material handling equipment (forklift, crane, etc.) preferred.
    • WMS (Warehouse Management System) experience preferred.
    • OSHA10 certification preferred
    • A proven track record in safety excellence is required.
    • Adheres to all safety and environmental compliance regulations set by the organization. Notify management immediately of any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries.
    • Ability to read and interpret work orders.
    • Meet department and production goals set by supervisor.
    • Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations.
    • Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail and can work in a team environment.
    • Adheres to the company's employee handbook policies and embodies the organization's core values.
    • Ability to learn other department job functions and fill in as needed.
    • Complete company compliance and safety training when required.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule and work under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.
    • Physical requirements for this role include, but are not limited to the following:
    • Lift 50lbs floor to waist and waist to shoulder multiple times
    • Standing and walking for long durations
    • Bending, squatting, and kneeling multiple times for long durations
    • The ability to climb up and down a ladder multiple times
    • Balance and stand on a ladder with three points of contact for extended periods of time
    • Comfortable working in the heat and cold due to manufacturing facilities not being climate controlled
