Under general supervision, is responsible for assignments involving the collection, classification and analysis of economic, financial and tariff data relating to rate design, modification and evaluation: Performs regulatory studies and recommends policy decisions. Project manages and supports Indiana regulatory filings, proceedings, and stakeholder events.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Keeps abreast of current developments in the field of regulatory proceedings and decisions, statistical methodology, tariffs of other companies, and economic and financial trends.
  • Prepares illustrations to present data quickly and in a comprehensive manner. Prepares reports and special studies as may be requested from time to time.
  • Project manages regulatory filings, proceedings, and stakeholder events ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables meet the Highest Standards.
  • Drafts written reports, including objective, fact-based analysis and well-reasoned recommendations and rationale.
  • Designs and maintains tariffs or modifies existing tariffs to satisfy revenue requirements for the company or to accomplish specific goals.
  • Serves as an advisor to regulatory leadership on complex regulatory issues.
  • Supports the preparation and filing of rate proceedings and related reporting requirements.
  • Monitors and researches regulatory trends in the industry and provides written memos and supporting analysis for consideration by regulatory leadership.
  • Supports efforts of tariffs and rate administration.
  • Performs financial analysis.
  • Carries out projects and data analysis.

Education

Four year college degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Economics, or Mathematics.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Skilled in researching data and preparing analysis
  • Excellent communications both written and verbal
  • Self-starter and capable of functioning with minimum supervision
  • Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Suite, Excel and Access.
  • Strong organizational skills, be able to prioritize the work and meet deadlines.
