Summary:
We are seeking a talented co-op student with a background in data analysis, statistics, or related disciplines to join our R&D team. The successful candidate will work on analyzing and interpreting clinical study data, as well as assist in building ML-based models to support new product research. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply data science and AI techniques in a research and product development setting.
For this opportunity, the expectation is to be onsite a minimum of 3 days per week in the Libertyville, IL office.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret data from clinical studies, identifying trends and insights that inform product development.
- Assist in the design and development of AI/ML-based models to support innovative research and product development efforts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and relevance to research goals.
- Support the integration of machine learning algorithms into research workflows.
- Prepare data visualizations, reports, and presentations to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- Background in Materials Science, Biology, or Chemistry is a plus but not required.
- Experience with data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
- Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts, with hands-on experience in building models preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical findings to a diverse audience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr. The actual salary varies based on applicant's, education & skills.
