Job Summary

The Computer Systems Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and performing minor repairs on computer systems, hardware, and software. This role involves performing scheduled preventative maintenance, responding to service requests, and ensuring all onsite computer systems and peripheral devices are operational, clean, and properly configured. The ideal candidate will have strong technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively to support system reliability and customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform technical maintenance and minor repairs on computer systems, hardware, and software
  • Conduct preventative maintenance tasks, including testing and replacing system batteries as needed
  • Respond to maintenance requests received via email, phone, or service ticket, and provide onsite technical support to customers
  • Install and configure system devices such as batteries, cables, and external PC speakers
  • Clean and verify proper operation of PCs and peripheral devices
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and testing logs using spreadsheets or other tracking tools
  • Troubleshoot technical issues with computer systems and related equipment
  • Collaborate with the Field Service Technician team when escalations are necessary
  • Handle and lift computer equipment and components as required
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members to ensure timely issue resolution


Job Requirements

  • Technical degree in computer systems, information technology, or related field
  • Minimum of two (2) years of related work experience
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting computer systems, hardware, and software
  • Experience using meters and diagnostic tools for troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with desktop computers, simple networking, and network cabling
  • Basic knowledge of operating systems, including Windows 7 and Windows 10
  • Ability to install and configure system devices and peripherals
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and teamwork skills
  • Openness to learning new technologies and processes
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English fluently
  • Capable of lifting and moving computer equipment as needed


Additional Job Details

  • Work may be performed at customer sites; must be able to travel locally as required
  • Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
