Job Summary

The Systems Administrator I is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of hardware, software, and network systems to ensure reliable and secure IT operations. This role includes system patching, troubleshooting technical issues, managing user accounts, and maintaining system performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, experience with Microsoft and Access Database systems, and the ability to implement cybersecurity best practices in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Install and configure new hardware, software, and network infrastructure, including servers, firewalls, and related equipment
  • Perform regular system maintenance, including software updates, security patches, and hardware upgrades
  • Monitor system performance, analyze logs, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues to ensure optimal uptime
  • Manage network servers, file systems, and network devices to maintain efficient and secure operations
  • Implement and manage security protocols, including access controls, password policies, and firewall configurations
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability scans to identify and mitigate risks
  • Create, manage, and update user accounts, permissions, and credentials in accordance with IT policies
  • Perform regular data backups and implement disaster recovery procedures to prevent data loss
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end users
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, procedures, and IT policy manuals
  • Train and assist users in understanding new systems, tools, and security practices


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Less than 2 years of prior relevant experience in systems administration or IT support
  • Experience with Microsoft systems and Access Database management
  • Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer systems, networks, and related hardware/software
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Must hold at least one of the following (or equivalent) certifications: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, ISC CISSP, or other relevant credential


Additional Job Details

  • Work location: 100% onsite in Ridgecrest, CA
  • Full-time position; standard weekday schedule with occasional overtime as needed
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances if required by project or client policies
