As a Senior Network Optimization & Sourcing Analyst you will be responsible for optimizing distribution network sourcing to balance service, cost, and operational efficiency. This role maintains and refines sourcing logic, conducts advanced scenario analyses, and delivers insights that improve cost-to-serve, transportation performance, and customer experience. The position requires strong analytical skills, the ability to work with large datasets, and close collaboration with Supply Chain, Logistics, Sales, and Customer Service teams to ensure sourcing strategies align with business priorities and customer needs.

*This is a remote opportunity with a preferred candidate being in PA, MD, NJ or NY. We are opened to junior level candidates.

Responsibilities



  • Own and refine sourcing rules to ensure customers are serviced from the most efficient facilities across the network.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of order flows to identify sourcing exceptions and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead scenario modeling and "what-if" analyses (e.g., footprint changes, lane shifts, mode optimization).
  • Partner with Planning and Customer Service to ensure order fulfillment strategies balance service commitments and cost efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain tools, models, and dashboards to track sourcing performance, cost-to-serve, and logistics efficiency.
  • Provide actionable insights on sourcing decisions using data from transportation, inventory, and customer orders.
  • Incorporate customer ordering patterns (frequency, order size, seasonality, promotions) into sourcing strategies.
  • Support leadership with business cases and recommendations to improve network design and sourcing logic.
  • Work with Supply Planning and Demand Planning to ensure sourcing decisions align with supply availability and demand forecasts.
  • Partner with Transportation and Distribution teams to factor in cost, capacity, and lead-time constraints.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service to ensure customer requirements and expectations are reflected in sourcing logic.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on sourcing within broader supply chain and logistics initiatives.


Requirements



  • 3+ years of experience in supply chain analytics, logistics, transportation, or network optimization.
  • Demonstrated experience with data modeling, network analysis, and sourcing strategy development.
  • Experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG), retail, or third-party logistics (3PL) industry preferred.
  • Advanced Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex logistics, transportation, and distribution data to identify trends, insights, and optimization opportunities.
  • Network Optimization Knowledge: Understanding of distribution networks, sourcing logic, cost-to-serve analysis, and supply chain efficiency principles.
  • Data Tools & Technology: Proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros); experience with SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or other analytics/visualization tools.
  • Problem Solving & Critical Thinking: Ability to translate data into actionable recommendations and solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Skilled at working with Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Transportation, Distribution, Sales, and Customer Service.
  • Attention to Detail & Accuracy: High level of precision when analyzing data and preparing reports.
  • Communication & Presentation Skills: Able to clearly present findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project Management & Organization: Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability & Continuous Improvement Mindset: Comfortable in a dynamic environment and focused on process and network improvement.
