The Payroll Coordinator is a fulltime position responsible for processing hourly payroll data in accordance with payroll policies and maintaining the tax reporting structure necessary to ensure the accuracy of all disbursements and tax remittances.

Essential Functions



  • Prepares and processes the multi-state payroll for all Morton Buildings hourly employees, processing information necessary to ensure accurate payroll disbursements, including the reconciliation of 401(k) deductions and company match.
  • Manages the garnishment and unemployment claim process, filing paperwork and attending hearings necessary to contest claims that are deemed unallowable.
  • Researches and interprets federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, ensuring appropriate designations within the HRIS platform, reconciling quarterly and annual filings, and investigating and resolving tax issues as necessary.
  • Serves as a point of contact for payroll inquiries, performing employment verifications, and monitoring the HR inbox, responding to employee inquires in a timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Required Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent follow through
  • Ability to work independently, as well as within a team setting
  • Aptitude for learning new application and technologies
  • Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills
