The Commodity Manager is responsible for sourcing, reviewing, and purchasing commodities to ensure the organization obtains the highest quality of goods and services at the best value.

Essential Functions



  • Develops, implements, and maintains a robust commodity inventory strategy; analyzing inventory levels to control costs and ensure adherence to established inventory value and turn standards.
  • Evaluates market conditions to identify potential supply chain issues, developing and implementing risk management strategies to mitigate risk.
  • Establishes and cultivates supplier relationships, analyzing supplier performance and implementing changes accordingly.
  • Identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments, negotiating favorable pricing and terms to maximize best commodity sourcing practices.
  • Serves as the point of contact for assigned commodity, resolving disputes and commodity-related issues in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Required Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, logistics, purchasing or relevant field
  • 5+ years of experience maintaining inventory and manufacturing processes
  • Proven process improvement efforts and results achieved
  • Ability to share ideas and collaborate with people from across the organization
  • Promotes teamwork and demonstrates leadership skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent follow through
  • Highly organized with ability to prioritize and multi-task
