Distributed Control Systems (DCS) Engineer

E2 Consulting Engineers, Inc. (E2) is a professional services firm established in 1988 specializing in a full spectrum of engineering services including project engineering and design, federal base operations and infrastructure support services, gas pipeline construction and inspection services, environmental consulting and remediation, and information technology services.

We're looking for a skilled Distributed Control System (DCS) Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be a key player in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of our control systems, with a specific focus on our GE Mark VIe gas turbines.

You'll be responsible for the full lifecycle of these systems-from design and implementation to maintenance and security. As technology evolves, you'll be at the forefront of upgrading our systems to meet the changing needs of our plant operations

Key Responsibilities

GE Mark VIe Expertise: Apply your strong experience with GE's Mark VIe control systems to ensure optimal plant performance.
• System Design & Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain DCS for industrial processes, including hardware, software, and network components.
• System Maintenance: Conduct regular system maintenance, upgrades, and modifications, and troubleshoot issues to ensure all components are working correctly.
• Project Management: Lead or contribute to projects related to DCS implementation and maintenance, managing budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
• Technical Documentation & Training: Prepare technical documentation and lead training sessions for colleagues on DCS operations.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure all DCS operations meet the latest industry regulations and cybersecurity standards.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with internal and external teams, providing technical support and leading the design and implementation of complex engineering solutions.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related technical field. A Master's degree is a plus.
• Experience: 2-4+ years of hands-on experience in DCS engineering, particularly with GE's Mark VI or Mark VIe gas turbine control systems.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in the latest DCS hardware and software.
• Strong knowledge of PLC/SCADA/HMI programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block Diagrams.
• Applied math and strong technical problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity standards.
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven experience in project and team management.

This position will pay between $140,000 to $190,000, based on skill and experience.
