Job Announcement

This position plays a pivotal role as the primary face of DIT to Fairfax County government staff, ensuring a world-class customer experience across core IT services. As an integral member of the DIT leadership team, this leader will collaborate closely with other DIT directors and department heads to develop and execute customer-centric IT programs. Key responsibilities include directing team activities, prioritizing initiatives, managing resource allocation, evaluating staff and systems performance, and ensuring optimal departmental performance and service delivery. Employment Standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:

Possession of a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business or public administration, or closely related field; plus seven years of progressively responsible experience in applying and/or managing information technology systems and resources to meet the needs of a government or business organization.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check and credit check to the satisfaction of the employer.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong knowledge of organizational management principles, budgeting, personnel administration, and financial management in a technology-driven enterprise.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing technology infrastructure or information systems in a large-scale, multi-platform enterprise.
  • Skilled Communicator, Critical thinker, and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to technical teams and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Extensive knowledge of operational and strategic planning methods, and the ability to respond effectively to emergency events.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is generally sedentary and performed in a normal office environment. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
