Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Wage: $30.00 - $35.00/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 7:00am - 4:00pm We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician with a strong mechanical background to join our digital printing and packaging facility in Buffalo Grove, IL. This hands-on position works directly on the production floor, focusing on preventative maintenance, mechanical troubleshooting, and machine building. The ideal candidate has advanced fabrication skills and experience supporting custom and newly installed equipment. Apply today! Maintenance Technician Responsibilities: - Perform routine preventative maintenance on production equipment to minimize downtime - Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems, including drives, bearings, belts, conveyors and other moving components - Support the installation, setup and commissioning of new and custom-built machinery - Fabricate and modify parts or machine components as needed to improve equipment performance - Collaborate with engineering and production teams to recommend and implement equipment improvements - Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, parts usage and machine history - Follow safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment Requirements for Maintenance Technician: - 3+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing, printing or packaging environment - Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in machine building, fabrication and assembly - Skilled in use of hand tools, power tools and fabrication equipment (e.g., cutting, drilling) - Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals - Familiarity with pneumatic systems - Familiarity with PLC systems a plus - Basic understanding of electrical systems is a plus - Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently on the production floor - Willingness to support off-shift or weekend work during machine installations or major repairs QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
