Make banking a Fifth Third better POSITION OVERVIEW: This is a senior hands-on architecture role focused on solution delivery, integration design, and technical execution. The Principal Solutions Architect works closely with developers, product owners, and enterprise architects to ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable implementations. This is not a people management or strategic planning role. GENERAL FUNCTION: Serves as a senior hands-on architect responsible for designing and delivering complex software and integration solutions within a Commercial Lending modernization program. This role will serve as the primary architect for the replacement of a legacy Commercial Loan System (AFS Level III) with AFSVision, aligning with the Bank's broader modernization strategy. The ideal candidate will bring deep architectural expertise in modern platform design, including domain-driven design, event-driven processing, and contemporary data practices. Experience in Commercial Lending technology is strongly preferred. Participates in SAFe ceremonies including PI Planning, feature reviews, and Enterprise Design Reviews (EDRs), providing architectural oversight and guidance. Creates and owns solution architecture deliverables, including functional solution designs (FSDs), integration patterns, and data flow diagrams. Partners with Enterprise Architects, Integration Leads, and Product Owners to ensure architecture is implemented consistently across squads. Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
