CAD Operator I

Willdan Energy Solutions (WES) is seeking a talented individual to fill the part-time role of CAD Operator I. WES is fast-growing company with many projects focused on energy efficiency; mechanical, electrical and IT infrastructure; sustainability; and state and utility-run incentives. Our energy efficiency services are a fast-growing specialty within our broader energy consulting practice.

The ideal candidate will have either a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Science, an Associate's Degree in CAD Technology, or an Engineering Technology degree. This is a remote, part-time opportunity operating 20 hours per week associated with our Manhattan, NY office location.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Organize and manage all CAD related work.
• Prepare accurate, quality work products. Ensure that plans are in compliance with all project and Willdan standards.
• Work with Construction and Design Team members to coordinate the generation of accurate, presentable engineering drawings from redlines or other design schematics provided.
• Follow and ensure implementation of WPE CAD standards.
• Provide knowledgeable support of Auto CAD 2018 or above.
• Create diagrams, floor plans, elevations, section-cuts, cross-sections, schedules in AutoCAD from redlines provided by Design Engineers.
• Train production designers on new tools, features, and program changes.
• Responsible for ensuring all project files are organized, accessible and backed up.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Science, CAD Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Be fully capable of working with design teams in meeting the project goals in a team-focused environment.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate ideas and concepts in both written and oral form.
• OSHA Certification not required. Will be provided by the company if necessary.
