The Release of Information (ROI) Specialist II plays a key role in ensuring the secure, accurate, and timely release of patient health information. This position processes requests in compliance with HIPAA, state, and federal regulations, while delivering exceptional customer service to patients, providers, and third parties. The ROI Specialist II may also assists with onboarding and training new team members.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare related discipline preferred.
2. License/Certifications: RHIT or RHIA preferred.
3. Experience: One year of experience in Release of Information required. Previous EPIC or EMR experience preferred. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Release of Information Specialist I role.
4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Medical terminology course - must obtain within six months of start date.
5. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred:
   • Strong knowledge of HIPAA and state privacy regulations.
   • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
   • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
   • Strong communication and customer service skills.
