Job Description

Switchcraft is a U.S. manufacturer of connectors, jacks, plugs, molded cable assemblies, patchbays, and switches. Our products are used in a wide variety of industries including medical, GPS, process control, transportation, homeland security, broadcast and pro audio. We currently have an opening for an experienced Customer Service representative at our Chicago office.



Switchcraft is currently looking for a Maintenance Mechanic. A Maintenance Mechanic must repair and maintain all machinery, plumbing, physical structures and lights, electric wiring and fixes in accordance with blue prints, manuals, and building codes. This person must inspect machinery and mechanical equipment for defects. Dismantles machines or equipment to gain access to defective parts and repairs them using tools as needed.



Location: Jefferson Park, Chicago - Northwest Side


Hours: 7 am - 3:30 pm M-F


Pay: $30/hr




Responsibilities & Duties:



  • General knowledge of electrical wiring
  • Knowledge of plumbing
  • Maintains all machinery
  • Inspects all mechanical equipment for any defects
  • Basic understanding of how to read blue prints
  • Knows how to dismantle the machine or equipment to see defective parts in machinery
  • Repairs defective parts on machinery

Requirements

Requirements:



  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to read blue prints
  • Must be able follow instructions given by team leader or supervisor
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment


Essential Requirements:



  • Vision acuity required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Self-starter
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds
