The UCSD Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences is composed of 78 Clinical and Research Faculty, Clinical Fellows, Residents, Project Scientists, and Postdoctoral Scholars. The department is composed of 7 divisions: Obstetrics and Gynecology, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Hospitalist, Complex Family Planning and Urogynecologic and Reconstructive Surgery. The department is currently ranked 5th in the nation in NIH funding among OB/GYN departments. Under the general supervision of the Director of Business Operations and Chair for the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, the incumbent independently performs a full range of comprehensive project development, planning, and administrative and operational oversight for the Chair's Office in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines. Provides administration management of strategic initiatives as outlined in Department's strategic plan; oversees Chair's office administration and management, data collection, and confidential information management, as well as general program development support by analyzing problems and issues of diverse and complicated scope, determining and implementing solutions. Responsible for managing and accessing requests for approvals, documents and letters requiring the Chair's signature and finalizing or escalating for additional review by departmental leadership as appropriate. Has delegated authority to finalize certain items on behalf of the Chair, including but not limited to; timecards, contracts and grants related items, letters of support, credentialing documents, departmental communications, newsletters, etc. Serves as a liaison between departmental programs and divisions, departmental leadership, staff, faculty, and other stakeholders. Develops and implements plans to evaluate and report on departmental programs and initiatives. Works with Director of Operations for overseeing operations team, HR, and Academic functions and ensuring functions are carried out effectively. While performing their duties, the incumbent must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism in a rapidly changing, time-pressured environment. This requires the incumbent to use discretion and have an understanding of sensitive issues, utilize independent judgment, possess strong organizational skills and the ability to be flexible as priorities demand. The incumbent maintains sensitive and confidential information in electronic and paper form, and must have the ability to extract, analyze, interpret and project the data as required. This position serves as the key resource for Department Faculty and must be able to review and resolve problems on Chair's behalf, triage all correspondence and telephone calls, draft correspondence, prepare reports, and interpret campus policies and procedures as they pertain to the activities of the Chair's Office. Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of analytical practices, policies and procedures; researches, analyzes and develops solutions to a wide range of issues. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Primarily deals with policies, programs and proposals which are complex in nature and diverse in scope. Develops new programs, policies or procedures for possible implementation. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $71,600 - $127,400 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $34.29 - $61.02 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
