With general supervision, the incumbent provides crucial advising and other vital services at the International Services and Engagement Office (ISEO) to international students, scholars and their dependents at UC San Diego, so they can maintain their legal non-immigrant status. Serves as primary contact for walk-ins (in-person and virtual), receives and assists visitors, answers incoming calls from international students and scholars seeking services, offers information and advice about international services and programs, sets appointments for in-depth advising, and makes referrals to other appropriate offices as needed. Utilizing specialized knowledge of federal regulations concerning international students, assists with campus compliance by updating international student records with required information gathered from various sources and entering important details into electronic database. Updates international student information in ISEO's international student and scholar management database, Sunapsis ("iServices") with attention to detail and complete accuracy. Provides occasional work direction to student assistants to develop marketing and outreach materials to educate international students and scholars about ISEO programs. Coordinates and implements website updates in collaboration with other advisors and technical support personnel. Works closely with the staff to keep forms and procedures up-to-date.
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $55,400 - $93,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $26.53 - $44.92 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
