Job Title: Medical biller Location: Hopkinsville, KY 42240 Duration: 12+ months Working Hours: Monday to Friday 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM Pay Rate: $21.50/hr. without benefits Job Description: Obtains, reviews, and evaluates financial reimbursement information for patient medical services. Conduct interviews and obtain information from the patient, the patient's family, and/or the Client concerning responsibility for patient care. Complete new admission paperwork. Establish the ability and authority of the responsible party for payment of patient services rendered, including precertification for patients with insurance. Perform follow-up interviews and contacts as needed. Maintain, run reports to review and evaluate patient accounts, including posting charges, submitting insurance claims, working denied claims, and posting payments into Meditech electronic medical records. Required Qualification: High school graduate or GED. One year of experience in Medicaid/Managed Care insurance/third-party billing procedures. Experience using an electronic medical records system. Must be able to navigate stairs frequently throughout the workday as part of the essential job functions.
