This is a hybrid role based out of our HQ office near Portland, Oregon. The expectation is for employees to be in-office 3 days or more per week, depending on business need. This in-office expectation is subject to change at business discretion.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Development Coordinator III manages the day-to-day duties of the development function from new sample distribution, sample reporting & tracking, best practices, SOP's and shared files organization. Other responsibilities include creating and maintaining the seasonal calendar for the development of new products from initial concept to sales sample. Other opportunities for this role include growth withing the scope of footwear product development for inline, outlet, SMU & L4L products. This person will deliver projects and related samples according to predetermined timelines and evaluate competitive developments with an eye towards improving the company's products.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Coordinate sample communication. Lead and update weekly sample tracking reports - inline/SMU/L4L/outlet - communicate clearly and effectively to LO and HQ product teams. Driving continuous improvement of tracking.

  • Assist Buy Ready promotion for development, engineering and cross-functional teams.

  • Coordinate seasonal calendar review. Sample Tracking, color Review, Buy Ready

  • Maintain and update Product Operations processes, SOPs and guidelines. Manage central file data base for Product Ops teams.

  • Establish and foster professional, industrious working relationship with cross-functional peers and factory partners. Build up this relationship in a manner which ensures the name and integrity of the Columbia Company is continually held in high esteem.

  • Maintain up-to-date information on LO allocation and capability matrix. Combines strong aptitude for data mining with a deep ambition for creative exploration, bridging insights with innovation.

  • Under direction of Product Development Manager, develop product specifications and coordinate all aspects of product development from concepts to product confirmation for assigned models.

  • Provide input to the design process in areas related to cost, color, production, and functional componentry for outdoor and lifestyle product.

  • Handles development priorities across multiple product types, including SMU, Outlet, and L4L programs, while maintaining operational efficiency and supporting the unique needs of each business channel.

  • Track development plans for assigned models using timelines with specific target dates to ensure samples are delivered to Merchandising Department according to schedule. Provide continuous and detailed progress reports to omni-ad and Product Development Manager

  • Maintain close communication with the overseas development staff reviewing progress and resolving issues.

  • Collaborate with Design (i.e. color and footwear) and Merchandising groups identify materials, components and construction options for each project.

  • Maintain current files on all assigned styles currently being developed or produced overseas. Model files contain sample request forms, latest specification sheet, specification change notices, 2D & 3D files, and other related information.

  • Travel 10-15% of time, primarily between the US and Asia, and within Asian countries.

YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree with course work in manufacturing, engineering or related field.

  • 3+ years' experience in product creation

  • 2+ years analytical experience with Excel, Power BI

  • Proficient with Excel, writing formulas (i.e: vlookup, if functions), pivot tables

  • Experience with data reporting
