Position Title: CNC Set Up Machinist/Tool & Die
Wage: $38-$40/hour Shift: 2nd Hours: 2pm-10pm QPS Employment Group is hiring experienced CNC Set Up Machinist with Tool & Die background at a company in Waukesha, WI. CNC Set Up Machinist/Tool & Die Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Set up and operate CNC machining centers, lathes, and mills for large and complex parts - Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions to ensure accuracy of parts - Select, set up, and adjust tooling, fixtures, and workholding devices - Perform program offsets and minor edits to ensure part quality and efficiency - Apply tool and die knowledge to achieve precision fits, tight tolerances, and complex geometries - Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring tools - Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve machining challenges - Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in line with company standards - Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, focusing on efficiency and quality CNC Set Up Machinist/Tool & Die Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or apprenticeship preferred - Minimum of 3-5 years of CNC setup and operation experience - Tool and die background strongly preferred (apprenticeship or equivalent) - Proficient in blueprint reading, GD&T, and precision measurement tools - Ability to make offsets and minor program edits in CNC controls - Experience machining large weldments or heavy components is a plus - Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills - Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
