HJF is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to install, test, maintain, document, and support systems and database software. In this position you will modify existing and create new databases for the specific needs of the research program. You will also assist in the maintenance of various websites and provide backup support to the Network/System Engineer and Service Desk subject matter experts. This position reports to the Infrastructure Support Manager.

This position will be in support of the Office of the Chief Information Officer.

We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing, and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.



  • Provides systems support on Azure, Oracle, and SAS databases and applications. Automates backups, support processes, and database maintenance of Oracle, SAS, and scientific applications. Manages user accounts, roles, and permissions to maintain security and compliance within Oracle environments. Monitors system health, performance, and availability; diagnoses and resolves issues.
  • Provides direction to ensure proper integration of all systems, software and operating systems, compilers, utility programs, database management systems, and Oracle Fusion Middleware technologies (SOA, OSB, BPM). Develops and maintains integrations with third-party systems and other enterprise applications using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and web services (SOAP/REST). Supports OFA consultants to implement customizations, enhancements, and fixes issues.
  • Assists in software validation, especially for systems in regulated programs. Prepares and runs test scenarios provided by systems vendors or others. Documents results and obtains approvals when required. Develops reports and uses developer tools such as Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF), Visual Builder Cloud Service (VBCS), SQL, PL/SQL, and Groovy scripting for Oracle SaaS extensions.
  • Provides direction to ensure the proper integration of all systems software and operating systems, compilers, utility programs, database management systems, etc.
  • For systems under a change control processes, ensures that processes are followed and documented.

  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.


Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information System Management, or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 9 - 10 years' experience required.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • 9+ years Azure, Oracle and other DBA level required. Development experience and/or SAS a plus.
  • Expertise in database technologies for Oracle Fusion Cloud modules (HCM, ORC, ERP).
  • Experience with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and web services (SOAP/REST).
  • Strong SQL, PL/SQL, and Groovy scripting skills.
  • Proficiency with Oracle Fusion Middleware technologies (SOA, OSB, BPM).
  • Experience validating software systems, especially in a regulated environment, preferred but not required.
  • Must possess advanced skills in troubleshooting and problem solving.


Work Environment



  • This position will take place primarily in an office setting.


Compensation



  • The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
