Description:

The ideal candidate will be interested in working with all aspects of sUAS and payload development and will support the team in designing, developing, and testing electronic and sensor systems for small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) and payloads. The job will begin as remote position and then transition to hybrid structure, working at least part time in a to-be-determined office in Northern Denver (Westminster,Thornton, Broomfield, etc.) area.

Job Role(s):




  • Design and develop embedded electronics for sensing, communication, and other UAS-related equipment.





  • Generate detailed hardware specifications, schematics, and PCB layouts (2-6 layer) for hardware boards.





  • Conduct feasibility studies, analysis, and simulation for new hardware designs, ensuring compliance with military standards and requirements.





  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, mechanical engineers, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions.





  • Perform prototype testing, troubleshooting, and validation of UAS-related electronics systems.





  • Maintain component and design libraries





Required Experience:




  • Electrical Engineering B.S. degree (or closely related field)





  • Proficiency in relevant tools and software for schematic capture, PCB layout, and simulation (e.g., Altium, Cadence, SPICE).





  • Fundamental understanding of electrical circuits





  • Familiarity with military standards and specifications related to hardware design.





Desired Experience:




  • Understanding of electronics thermal management





  • Experience with RF, software-defined radios (SDR) and frameworks, such as GNU radio





  • Coding skills with VHDL and C/C++





  • Design and analysis experience using industry standard tools (COMSOL, ANSYS, Python, etc).





  • Experience designing, building, and testing all types of sUAS systems.





  • Experience with GNSS receivers and other navigation systems/sensors preferred.





  • Experience with NDAA requirements and hardware
