This position is responsible for general track repairs and new construction including but not limited to replacing rail, ties, spreading rock, vegetation control, snow removal, and other related railroad tasks.

The typical schedule during production season is M-F 6am-5pm. Maybe one Saturday per month. Typical schedule during maintenance season is M-F 7am-3pm.

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS



  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. Driver's license required.
  3. Must be able to qualify as valid worker under FRA standards


DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Follow direction and accomplish assigned tasks within time standards with minimal supervision.
  2. Be able to stay overnights on certain projects. (Per Diem provided)
  3. Use a variety of tools safely and proficiently, including, but not limited to pneumatic and hydraulic tools, grinders, jacks, cutting torches, general hand tools and drills.
  4. Assist team members with completing their tasks, varying by the tasks at hand
  5. Good housekeeping of all machines and work area
  6. Learn, comprehend, and apply all new hire, safety, and on-the-job training.
  7. Learn, comprehend, and apply FRA and company requirements
  8. Interact professionally with crew members, management and customers in a team environment
  9. Comply with all safety policies
  10. Ensure machines and tools are kept in good quality. Report all defective equipment to the Foreman.
  11. Other duties as assigned.
