Compensation

The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is$131,200.00 to$218,700.00.

Position Details

As a Staff engineer in the Order Domain. You will be responsible for:

1. Building Order Domain APIs for internal teams that orchestrate the purchasing and payment lifecycle for orders.

2. Produce domain events to facilitate data products and event driven architectures. 3. Provide visibility into the order lifecycle through APIs and dashboards.

To give you a perspective of our scale, we work with 100k+ daily orders and millions of user accounts. We deploy Spring Boot/Kotlin microservices, leverage most of the Kafka APIs, and store data in MongoDB and Postgres.

You Will


* Create RESTful APIs primarily using Kotlin.
* Deploy images to cloud provider leveraging internal CD tooling.
* Monitor and maintain production applications primarily using Datadog.
* Mentor, coach, and provide feedback to engineers on your team and/or domain.
* Optimize CI/CD pipelines for application as needed.
* Partner with engineering manager, architects, and product owners to design solutions for business initiatives.
* Pair program daily using test driven development to write application code and coach team members.
* Promote effective coding practices like SOLID Principles, refactoring patterns, and clean code.
* Create an environment where quality (testing + observability) is a shared responsibility, engineers strive to write maintainable applications, and learning is a collaborative activity.


You Have


* 10+ years of experience with Modern Software Engineering projects and
practices: designing, building, and deploying scalable software
applications.
* 5+ years of experience in designing, building and deploying cloud native
solutions.
* Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
* Effective communication skills to collaborate with others in gatherings of 20+ team members.
* Understanding of distributed system design and experience building
distributed systems.
* Experience with MVC frameworks for back-end development.
* Experience with messaging systems like Kafka.
* Experience with relational and NoSQL database technologies such PostgreSQL and
MongoDB.
* Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
* Coached and Mentored team members.
* Some understanding of HTTP1.1/2.0, Domain Driven Design, OAuth 2.0, Envoy, and API gateways.
