This position will be responsible for carrying out the teaching, research, and service mission of the department. The current teaching load for research-active faculty is 10 semester credits per academic year. The teaching assignment will be either at the undergraduate or graduate level. There is also an expectation of advising at the Ph.D. level. On the research mission, faculty are expected to develop and maintain a research stream that will contribute to the Supply Chain and Operations discipline. Finally, this position is expected to serve on department and collegiate committees. Qualifications
We invite applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in supply chain and operations management or related disciplines. The position, contingent upon budgetary/administrative approval, has a proposed appointment start date of August 31, 2026. Preference will be given to applicants with strong methodological training and evidence of research on contemporary and impactful problems in the domain of supply chain and operations, as well as the potential to excel in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. Program/Unit Description: The Supply Chain and Operations (SCO) Department at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota has 9 tenured/tenure-track faculty and 3 full-time teaching faculty. The department faculty teach courses in the undergraduate, MBA, Ph.D., and other specialty programs, and conduct a wide variety of research in the Supply Chain and Operations discipline. The department is home to the Master of Science in Supply Chain Management program, targeted at high-potential working professionals, and the Joseph M. Juran Center for Research in Supply Chain, Operations, and Quality. The Carlson School's undergraduate program and Master of Science program in supply chain management are ranked among the top 10 in North America. The department has an active doctoral program with 9 full-time students currently in residence.
