Hourly Pay Range:

$32.60 - $48.90 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Program Manager, Annual Giving - NorthShore Hospitals Foundation

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Program Manager, Annual Giving

  • Location: Evanston, IL

  • Full Time/Part Time: Full Time

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, during normal business hours

  • Required Travel: local travel may be required

What you will do:

  • Lead and project manage multiple best practice mass direct mail and electronic appeal solicitation campaigns.

  • Own the Annual Giving appeals process from start to finish, including, but not limited to: make data-driven decisions for segmentation; oversee print, mail and fulfillment timelines with outside vendors; write compelling fundraising copy to solicit annual giving prospects and donors; routinely conduct A/B testing for optimal messaging and tactics.

  • Consult with Annual Giving Director to align initiatives with NorthShore Foundation and Endeavor Health's strategic priorities.

  • Partner with Development Operations Communications and Analytics teams to execute email journeys, and align with Communications on coordinated appeal outreach across Endeavor Health.

  • Monitor, report and analyze outcomes of the solicitation campaigns. In collaboration with the Business Innovation and Analytics team, create segmentation analysis for use in strategic planning and performance reporting. Analyze donor trends and tendencies to maximize Annual Fund ROI. Conduct "lessons learned" meetings with internal partners to reflect on and improve processes.

  • Lead donation stewardship efforts, including assigning and making thank you calls and first-time donor stewardship.

  • Identify additional donor, prospect, and grateful patient engagement opportunities. In collaboration with Communications and Donor Relations, leverage engagement opportunities, events and stewardship reports and other available resources to keep prospects and donors involved and informed of ongoing projects, developments, and advancements at NorthShore Hospitals.

  • Work closely with the Donor Services Team to ensure awareness of upcoming campaigns, proper recording of gifts, donor inquiries, and correct wording of thank you letters and other stewardship.

  • Conduct periodic benchmarking with peers and other institutions to learn and incorporate best practices as appropriate.

  • Other relevant duties as required, including supporting select early morning, evening or weekend donor stewardship and cultivation events; approximately quarterly throughout the year.

What you will need:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree, required

  • Certification: n/a

  • Experience:

    • Three to five (3-5) years of fundraising experience in annual giving/campaigns and appeals, with an emphasis on individual/annual solicitation.

    • Three (3) years of working with CRMs/donor databases (e.g., extracting information and reports)

    • Relevant experience in conducting complex fundraising programs

    • Prior experience in directly engaging constituents for fundraising purposes preferred or experience in sales, marketing, or related field.

  • Unique or Preferred Skills:

    • A sincere and compassionate appreciation for philanthropic audiences and how they are each uniquely motivated. Ability to communicate compellingly in writing to reach and inspire these audiences.

    • Strong data and analytical orientation with the ability to evaluate large datasets and translate to effective annual giving campaigns.

    • Strong written, presentation, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to relate well to individuals from diverse backgrounds.

    • Strong commitment to customer service and donor-centric mindset and approach.

    • Ability to accept and process feedback and a collaborative working style are essential.

    • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and tact.

    • Poised and engaging, empathetic communications style based on natural warmth and enthusiasm.

    • Strong work ethic and track record of personal initiative required.

    • Fast-paced and results oriented with the ability to work in a timely manner with multiple deadlines and competing requirements.

    • Must be flexible and adaptable in an ever-changing environment.

    • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM strongly preferred.
