Description
Steelcase is seeking a highly productive and strategically minded Design Portfolio Consultant in San Francisco, California to grow our ancillary product share of wallet within key accounts. This role is ideal for a sales professional with a strong background in contract furniture and a passion for delivering comprehensive, design-forward client solutions. This position partners with our account sales teams and is dedicated to engaging directly with large end-customer accounts and key influencers aligned with these accounts
What you will be doing:
  • Partner with account sales teams to develop and execute strategic account plans that expand ancillary product penetration within targeted strategic accounts.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert across the full Steelcase ancillary portfolio, including Coalesse, Viccarbe, Orangebox, West Elm Work, and partner brands.
  • Lead client-facing engagements to position ancillary solutions, respond to bids and RFPs, and deliver tailored product recommendations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within strategic accounts.
  • Collaborate on strategic account planning and forecasting to identify growth opportunities and align with broader sales goals.
  • Represent the Steelcase portfolio of ancillary brands at client meetings and other strategic touchpoints.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of demonstrated sales success in the contract furniture industry or a closely related field.
  • Proficiency in CRM (Saleforce) systems and Microsoft Office; familiarity with CET Designer or similar tools is a plus but not required.
  • Approximately 30% travel required to support client engagements and strategic initiatives.
  • Willingness to travel to and from San Francisco to South Bay at least twice a week or vice versa.

  • Proven ability to influence purchasing decisions and drive complex sales cycles within large organizations.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and consultative selling skills.
  • Possess an unwavering commitment to a high level of service to clients is critical for success in this role.
  • Work well within a team selling environment.
  • Understand the competitors, market trends and key industry developments.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
