Description
Steelcase is seeking a driven Ancillary Sales Representative in Dallas to grow our share in the local contract furniture market with a specific focus on the ancillary products offered through our portfolio of design brands. This role is centered on new business development and is ideal for a sales professional who thrives in a competitive environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and cultivating opportunities through architecture and design (A&D) firms, contract furniture dealers in market by influencing specifications and driving sales. This role must have the ability to host interactions and influence end user clients.
As an Ancillary Sales Representative, you will carry a curated portfolio of highly-regarded contract furniture brands, including Coalesse, Viccarbe, Orangebox, West Elm Work, and other partners. This collection offers a diverse and design-forward range of products that appeal to modern workspaces and collaborative environments.
You will serve as a brand ambassador and product expert, leading education efforts and responding to project-specific opportunities with tailored solutions, pricing, and specification support. This is a field-based role that requires a strategic mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for business development.
What you will be doing:
  • Develop and execute a strategic ancillary plan for A&D firms and dealer partners to drive brand preference and influence specifications across key projects.
  • Prospect new or dormant customers and develop an action plan for ancillary sales growth in market to meet sales targets.
  • Manage project from identification through specification to completion, including but not limited to, product selection, pricing, samples, order placement, and order tracking.
  • Build and maintain strong, consultative relationships with designers in firms and at dealers to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary resource for ancillary product knowledge, delivering presentations and support to ensure brand success.
  • Must be motivated and comfortable working in and supporting a cohesive team.
  • Respond in coordination with a sales support team to project opportunities with specification options, pricing, and product recommendations tailored to client needs.
  • Represent brands at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in contract furniture, interior design, or related industries.
  • Proven success in new business development and working in a variable compensation model.
  • Strong understanding of ancillary furniture solutions, design process, and the competitive landscape.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools (Salesforce) and Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Interior Design, or a related field preferred.
  • The role requires approximately 20% travel to engage with clients, attend industry events, and support regional initiatives.
