This position shares in the responsibility of the procurement of all contracted truckload, expedited and intermodal transportation for the Sherwin-Williams Company. This person will be assigned Sherwin-Williams sites based upon geographic location for which they will be solely responsible for all outbound truckload transportation. They must work with the sites to ensure that carrier selection is made according to the needs of the sites, quality of service, cost, and commitments. This position will be carrier solicitation, negotiation of freight rates, carrier and mode selection, dispatching, tracking, and tracing loads, monitoring service levels and all customer service issues related to the transporting of truckloads in their area of responsibility.

Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's staff, employees, and business relationships.

* Negotiate freight rates with outside carriers for transportation of truckload quantities
* Work with assigned Sherwin-William sites to choose carriers based on the site's requirements and needs, transit times, acceptable modes, quality of service and cost
* Manage carrier commitments based on cost, individual site needs and overall system-wide needs.
* Dispatch all truckload quantity movements to carriers and handle all customer service issues related to the transport of the product including tracking and tracing and carrier payment
* Work with the fleet and LTL carriers to avoid expedited carriers and lower our overall costs
* Effectively dispatch the department's owner operators and dedicated drivers to ensure annual profit goals are met
* Continually solicit new carriers to insure adequate availability and best cost options
* Ensure that new carriers are set-up within specified company guidelines

Minimum Requirements:
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future (e.g., OPT, CPT, H1B, EB-1,etc.)
Must have High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualification:
Have a bachelor's degree or higher in Management, Logistics, Business Administration or Operations
Have at least one (1) year of work experience in a Purchasing, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Operations role or have completed a Sherwin-Williams Development Program in an operations or supply chain function
