This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus contingent upon: (1) successful completion of hiring process, (2) completion of onboarding requirements, and (3) execution of sign-on bonus agreement with terms and conditions.
How You'll Make an Impact
Lead technical crews of 2-8+ specialists through complex transformer installation and maintenance projects.
Execute comprehensive electrical testing including power factor analysis, winding resistance, and SFRA diagnostics.
Serve as primary customer liaison and technical advisor during critical field operations.
Optimize project workflows by strategically assigning tasks based on team strengths and site conditions.
Manage high-voltage equipment ranging from distribution transformers to transmission-level apparatus.
Conduct preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on mission-critical power infrastructure.
Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and implement innovative solutions.
Mentor junior technicians while promoting continuous safety excellence across all operations.
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
Associate degree/ two-year technical diploma and a minimum of 5 years of transformer service experience; OR, High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 7 years of transformer service experience. Supervisory experience a plus.
Comprehensive knowledge of transformer field service operations and electrical testing procedures
Expertise in transformer installation, vacuum/oil processing, and internal component assembly
Valid driver's license with flexibility to travel up to 85% throughout assigned territory
Strong technical problem-solving abilities and leadership experience in field environments
Proven track record working safely around high-voltage electrical equipment
Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States

Pay Disclosure (California Applicants Only):
The hourly wage for the Field Service Technician B position is $38.143. This pay scale reflects the amount the company reasonably expects to offer for this role in California, in accordance with California Labor Code *432.3.
Pay Disclosure (Colorado Applicants Only):
The hourly pay range for the Field Service Technician B position is $26.11 to $39.18, based on the company's good faith estimate of what it expects to pay for this role in Colorado. This position may also be eligible for additional compensation and benefits, including health care, retirement plans, and paid time off
