Position Summary


As a Consult-Liaison Psychiatrist, Employee provides clinical care either directly or through supervision of residents/fellows in the hospital settings. Employee may deliver clinical care and supervision of clinical care to patients within their scop of practice and licensure within regulatory and/or accrediting guidelines. The employee also provides clinical teaching, didactic teaching, and administrative duties as defined by the role.


UNR Med Core Faculty exemplify commitment to leadership in medical student, resident, and/or fellow education and program administration to meet the goal of continuous program improvement. The position involves working in tandem with departmental leadership in the organization, implementation, and supervision of essential training experiences. Duties include but not limited to the clinical supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows, didactic teaching responsibilities, and committee participation.

Education and Training



  • Support the teaching mission of UNR Med and Renown Health by participating in the education and supervision of learners.
  • Promote continuing education and professional development for CCC staff.


Qualifications



  • MD or DO with current licensure to practice medicine in the state of Nevada.
  • Board certification in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).
  • Additional board certification or fellowship training in Addiction Medicine or Addiction Psychiatry is preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of post-residency clinical experience, including experience in emergency psychiatry, crisis care, or community psychiatry.
  • Prior leadership or administrative experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to health equity, continuous quality improvement, and team-based care.


Additional Information



  • This position includes 20% protected time (approximately 8 hours/week) for administrative and leadership responsibilities.
  • This is a faculty position eligible for academic appointment through the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med).
  • The role reports directly to the Chief of Behavioral Health and works closely with their dyad partner and other clinical and operational leaders within the integrated academic health system.
