The Opportunity:

Avantor is seeking a Global Supply Chain Strategy Manager who will play a pivotal role in shaping, monitoring, and driving execution of Global Supply Chain strategies. This leader will be responsible for developing and managing key performance indicators (KPIs), championing annual planning and review processes, and leading cross-functional strategic initiatives.

Partnering closely with Supply Chain Directors and functional leaders, this role ensures alignment of roadmaps to long-term goals and delivers measurable business impact through ABS-type (Avantor Business System / Lean Six Sigma) projects. They will champion the ABS program in the Global Supply chain organization.

This is a full-time role with virtual/remote optionality. **Located near Radnor, PA or Leuven, Belgium with ability to be in the office 2-3 days a week is preferred.

How you will thrive and create an impact:

  • KPI Development & Performance Management:
  • Define, develop, and maintain a robust set of KPIs to measure supply chain efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with strategic goals.

  • Ensure KPIs cascade across functions and geographies to support consistent performance tracking.

  • Provide regular performance dashboards, insights, and commentary to senior leadership.

  • Annual Rituals & Strategic Alignment:

  • Champion the annual Global Supply Chain planning cycle, including target setting, operational planning, and strategic reviews.

  • Facilitate alignment between global, regional, and functional teams during annual operating plan (AOP) and long-range strategic planning processes.

  • Ensure documentation and follow-through of key initiatives and commitments.

  • Strategic Road mapping & Partnership:
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Directors and cross-functional leaders to document, refine, and track strategic roadmaps.

  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable initiatives with milestones, metrics, and accountability.

  • Monitor progress and ensure course corrections where needed to achieve functional goals.

  • Project Leadership (ABS / Lean Six Sigma):
  • Lead and execute ABS-type projects, focusing on cross-functional and enterprise-level initiatives.

  • Apply continuous improvement methodologies to simplify processes, eliminate waste, and improve efficiency across the supply chain.

  • Facilitate workshops, kaizen events, and problem-solving sessions with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Change & Stakeholder Management:
  • Act as a change champion for strategic initiatives and process improvements.

  • Engage stakeholders across Global Supply Chain and adjacent functions (Commercial, Manufacturing, Finance, etc.) to ensure alignment and adoption.

  • Develop communication and training materials to support adoption of KPIs, processes, and tools.

What we're looking for:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience in supply chain, operations, or strategy with demonstrated leadership responsibility.
  • Strong background in KPI development, performance management, and strategy deployment.

  • Experience leading cross-functional strategic initiatives; ABS, Lean, or Six Sigma certification strongly preferred.

  • Proven track record of managing multiple priorities in a global and matrixed environment.

  • Additional Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to translate data into insights and action.

  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and presentation skills for executive-level audiences.

  • Influential leader able to build consensus across functions, geographies, and levels of the organization.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing processes and driving accountability.

  • Change agent mindset with demonstrated ability to champion and implement continuous improvement.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$102,200.00 - $170,300.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
